Recipe: Korean Style Chicken Wings

Few weeks back, hubby had a “men’s only” BBQ party. He requested me to marinate some chicken wings Indian Style. But I thought of trying something different, and the results was that he is now the crowned king of the Men’s BBQ Nights. We tried this recipe couple of times to perfect it and I am obviously sharing the final one with you. So here goes… For your next BBQ party ( or any party, since you can easily bake these in your oven too), give this recipe a try.
What you’ll need for 1Kg Wings:
3 medium sized garlic cloves, crush
1-inch ginger root, grate
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
4 spring onions, chop
1 tbsp white sesame seeds
3 tbsp sugar
2 tsp red pepper flakes
Directions:
Just mix all the ingredients for marination.
Put chicken wings in a large ziplock bag, mix in the marination.
Its best to refrigerate for 8hrs, so overnight would be great, or you could marinate in the morning and cook at night.
Every few hours just massage and turn the bag of chicken a bit to ensure the chicken gets flavour.
BBQ – Just place the wings on the mesh and grill, after about 20min bask with oil/butter and turn grill for another 15min
Bake – Pre-heat oven at 270C (250C for fan assisted) and place the wings in, bake for 30min, turn and bask with oil/butter bake for another 15min.
Serve hot.
